The Drift

The Drift offers 9 standalone cabin-style units with private entrances and no shared walls. Each cabin has its own kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and dorm-size refrigerator-freezer. The property sits right on the San Juan River, behind a liquor store off San Juan Street, with a river walk and bike path behind the units.

Each cabin contains a king-size bed on a raised wooden platform with open storage underneath for suitcases or bags. A built-in alcove offers twin bunk beds with a window for each child, and the room provides a wall-mounted clothes rack with hangers and a separate iron and ironing board. The bathroom has a large walk-in tiled shower with a full-width drain and a built-in ledge for toiletries.

A central courtyard has picnic tables, a gas grill with some cooking pans, and a propane fire feature with seating. The property offers a handful of cruiser bicycles for guests to borrow and return at no extra charge. Directly behind the cabins is a natural, public hot spring along the river (Hippie Dip) that guests can use for free.

The Drift is a two-minute walk from the river walk and a footbridge that crosses to The Springs Resort hot springs spa. Restaurants such as Kips Grill & Cantina, Thai Pagosa, and Sage, plus Root House coffee and a natural-food grocery store, are all within walking distance. Chimney Rock National Monument is 36 km away, Wolf Creek Ski Resort is 40 km away, and Durango-La Plata County Airport is 95 km away.
